Good Week

Date: January 16, 2012 Area: Santiago, Chile Companion: Elder Lopez

Hey Family,

Dad, thanks for the updates: It good to be informed on whats going on in the U.S. and the world even if its only once a week. And get that investment plan in action here pronto so that we can sail around the world, dad!!! c´mon! =) And lookin good workin on that firepit! But just in case you didn´t know, the fire rings usually go outside, not inside on the carpet. Just a little tip. And I laughed outloud with your ¨perhaps theres a snowballs chance¨ that mom and lindy will have a nice nowball fight =)

As for me this week was better than the last week. We are still knocking doors like crazy which is tough but eventually works. Its worse in this season because everyone is out of town on vacation but its all good, we finally found a few people to teach this week which was good.

Normally when we have a lesson its with like one or two people but we had one lesson in particular this week with an entire inactive family. It was awesome to have it with everyone in the family there. The spirit was different there when the family was united and all participating. I know that families are ordained by God and that we have such a great blessing to be able to live together forever.

This week was a little crazy like I said at the begining. 10 days ago on friday Lucho (Luis Gomes, the son of Hna gomez who always goes out with us) had a siezure. He has epelipsey and he had his first attack in 15 years. It was short, about 10 minutes, but very strong. He all week was drifting in and out of little siezures and has had trouble remembering things and even knowing where he is. He was waiting all week for the hospital to call him and to give him an appointment to be seen by the neurologist. He seemed like he was getting better towards the end of the week last week, much more conscious, more like his usual self. But yesterday in church he wasn´t feeling good and so he went home with his mom in the middle of sacrament meeting. She took him to the clinic and they injected him to make him go to sleep and when she brought him home he started having another attack. She called us because he was asking for the elders in the middle of the attack and we came running. He was in pretty bad shape when we got there, and I sat on the bed next to him and tried to calm him down. It took a while but he finally fell asleep. He was asking for all of his family and they all came and were extremely supportive of him. When Lucho woke up they took him to the hospital and they finally looked at him and he is going back today to see what they can give him to help him out but if you could all just keep him in your prayers that would be great. There is power in prayer and he´ll feel the support.

But thank you for being such a great family. I am sooo blessed to have you guys to lean on, for all the support and love you show me. I don´t know why I have such a great family but I sure am greatful for all of you. I can´t express the love I feel for each of you and just want you to know that I do love and pray for you everyday.

les amo,

Elder Holland
