This week

Date: December 06, 2011 Area: Santiago, Chile Companion: Elder Lopez

Hey family,

Cutler, I¨m listening to the recording that you guys made. Cutler! What are you doing at home at this time? why aren´t you at school. The mic records from all directions so you don´t have to really turn it just so that you know. I wish I could have a cinnamon roll. my english spelling is really bad now. Hows that book comming?

CJ!!! Way to go with the most offensive player!!! Thats awesome =) You´ll have to own next year. Hopefully they change the coach!

Mom, that will be good to go up to Utah and visit lindy! You spend like half of your time up there =) youre going to be a utahn here soon, not a san diegan!

This week not too much happened. Just alot of walking. Alot. We didn´t have too many appointments this week unfortunately so that means we are in la calle talking to people alot.

One thing that happened this week that was pretty funny was at the Family home evening (Noche de hogar) of the bishop. We are having a different NDH every week with the investigators and recent converts which is really good for them. But the investigator Nicole (who will be getting Baptized el 25!!! ) found a puppy in the street that she kept. She was holding the puppy on her lap and everyone told her to put the puppy on the floor and let her walk around, so she did. Well, she walked away from everyone and went diareah all over the floor!!!! and it was bad! So I started to help clean it up and it really smelled. Nicole felt bad and so she came over to help clean but douldn´t because it smelled so bad and she started gagging! She almost threw up! It was really kind of funny =)

But we are excited because, well we don´t have many investigators but the ones that we do have are good. We have 3 that have baptismal dates and are progressing towards their baptism! It is awesome! Two of them live in the same pasaje that we do which is nice because to teach them they only live 10 and 15 seconds away from us.

Yesterday we had 7 people in the iglesia that weren´t members. It is usually good to have people there who aren´t members but it was an, to put it lightly, aweful church! Man, I was dieing!! We had fast and testimony meeting and at the beginning it was good but then it turned into like story time... not so good. One hermana even went up and started asking for perdon (forgiveness) from anyone that she may have offended over the course of the last year! haha!!! then there were others who told stories for about 10 minutes. From there we had gospel principles with all the investigators. The teacher was good but the mother in law of Christopher was in there and she wouldn´t stop talking! She was talking about all sorts of things! She even went off on how we need to appreciate the birds, because they are special creations of God and they make beautiful music that we need to appreciate. That she has a tree full of birds that she always loves to listen to in the morning and occasionally they fly into the house...it was like! ¨irrelevant!!!¨ and after, the bishop repremanded the priesthood in opening excercises and the class afterwards was like all over the place! It wasn´t the best chruch that i´ve been to haha. I always get nervous in church when there are investigators there now. I just want them to have a positive experience!!

But Elder Lopez and I are having a great time here together. He really is awesome, we have fun together.

This last week I went with all the other missionaries that came with me to Chile to the government offices to sacar nuestros carnés. Or our documentation to be legal here in chile. I´m basically Chilean now! but It was so much fun because I was able to wait in line for about 5 hours that day and I love waiting in line=) But really, we did get to go to different parts of downtown and hang out with the other elders which was fun.

I´m doing well, and I love and miss you! Thanks for all that you do for me!! Love you,,

Elder Holland
