Trio

Hey Fam,

Things went pretty well for us this week. But it sounds like you guys had a great week from what everyone told me.

But I don`t know if it was clear from other emails that I have sent but I was in a trio before. With Elder Willoughby and Elder McCombs. But now it is just Elder Willoughby and I that are here. It makes it a little bit harder getting into houses because we cant teach women alone but its all good. things picked up a bit this last week so we felt blessed in that sense. He is great. He is new, I am finishing his training. He is a Canadian a. haha but he is good. He is learning spanish (his biggest challenge) but is great in lessons. He is a good compañero.

But this last week I have been thinking a lot about the importance of the family and how lucky we are that we even have the possibility of having an eternal family. What a blessing.

I was also talking to the 1st councilor in the branch and he had some interesting ideas that I hadn`t really thought of before. He is extremely kapo (smart). But we were talking about churches and how there really can only be one true church because Christ only left one church on the earth when he left. He was talking about how he likes it when people begin to ask questions. Questions about how things work in the church. Where does the church come from, how did it start, how is the organization, what does the church do with the tithing. All the sorts of questions that most other churches are afraid to answer because the church of Jesus Christ is not afraid of that type of question. Those are the questions that set us apart as the true church because there had to be a restoration. The church of Jesus Christ is the only church that is 100% transparent in all its dealings, in its organization and its finances which is a huge testimony as to its veracity. What other church or organization is not afraid of showing that? None! I thought it was a great concept. Also in our beliefs of what happens after death. Many people avoid that like the plague but we know the plan of happiness and what will happen. We share and teach that great news. That is what sets us apart. And those strong points of the church of Jesus Christ are the points that are very weak in other chruch. It is what defines us.

This last week we had a expo on the book or mormon and the evidences of the book of mormon and it was SWEET! I loved it! I will have to share everything with you when I get back but there are so many evidences of the BOM and that it is true. They found a cemetary named Nahum (where ishmael was burried) ruins where they translated hyroglifics (in the middle east) that appear the names Lehi, Nefi and Sam. and many other things. I dont have time to write about everythign but the BOM is so true. there are so many evidences of it but the most important thing is the spiritual evidence of the book that comes from God. It is so important to read and ask God to know if it is true and then act accordingly and live by its principles. It is true and the church is true!
