Hola
Familia,
This was a pretty
good week. It wasnt as fast as some other weeks that I have had but it was still
pretty good.
But first, it
looks like you are all doing so great! It is strange to see pictures of you and
see the changes that you all are having. Phyiscally and from what you all tell
me there are countless other changes.
But more than the
physical changes that are such great blessings, it is great to hear about all of
the spiritual and other changes and blessings that you have all received over
this past year. It is incredible. Sometimes when the changes are subtle day by
day we can`t see how much the picture is really changing but when you only get a
glimpse once a week you notice how great the changes really are. And there have
been so many changes in our familiy. I am very greatful for that.
I was reading a
talk by Pres. Uchtdorf´s talk ´Of Resolutions and Regrets´ and it is wonderful.
I feel that much of what he talks about, you have applied as a family and that
is one of the reasons that you have received so many blessings. Actually Lindy
wrote me today about that talk so I would encourage you all to look it up and
read it. maybe a good FHE activity tonight=)
But there are
blessings that we receive everyday and I feel lots of gratitude for that. That
is one thing that I have been better at doing lately, is recoginzing the
blessings that the Lord gives to us on a daily basis and when we do that life is
much more fun and enjoyable.
For instance,
this last week we didn`t have too much success (we haven`t had that much success
in this sector) but I feel blessed knowing that we are working hard and I feel
at peace with the work we are doing.
We had a few
really funny lessons this last week that made the week really funny. She didn`t
go to church this week (next week!) but we were teaching her and she brought a
friend over and we were able to teach her friend. Well our investigator
introduces us as the missionaries and she starts telling her friend, in a very
energetic and exaggerated way, that we come from other countries to preach at
their own expense. But she was telling anna that we walk around all day in the
heat that we rent a small room to live in and that we sleep on the floor and
hardly have food to eat! They make real sacrifices! and what do we do in our
church!? Nothing! We go out a couple of hours on Sunday but its nothing like
they do! They are true diciples of Christ! We are so wrong, seriously wrong
where we are!¨ haha, it was really funny because the friend started to agree
with our contact and tell her that the missionaries are so great and that they
make true sacrifices (and anna had never talked with the missionaries before
us=) It was just a funny experience.
Everyday there is
something funny that happens on the mission, you just have to have eyes to see
it.
But on another
note, I was thinking a little bit about me and how I have changed in the last
year and it is really cool to look back at who I was when I first arrived here
to Chile and to see the changes. I feel that the Lord has seriously blessed me
to be where I am. It hasn`t all been easy but it has, without a doubt, been
worth it. I have grown in my testimony and I know know without a doubt that this
is the true church of Jesus Christ. There is no other organizaiton that has the
structure and formation that can even begin to compare with the Church. I know
that the apostles and prophets are called of God and that He directs his church.
It is the only Living Church. And I have seen changes in me, with the way that I
act and react to different sitations. I have learned to better recognize the
spirit and have expanded my capacity to love. I feel like I have become
something more like Christ and while I have a large divide between where I
currently am and who I should be, I know that I am working in the right
direction and I know that Heavenly Father will continue to bless me and to help
me to make the needed changes in my life to become a true diciple of
Christ!
I love you all so
much. Congratulaions Spencer on your papers! You should know where you go within
3 weeks!!! CRAZY!
les amo,
Elder Jaromy
