Hey
Familia!
It sounds like you
are all doing great like usual. Traveling the world! haha. Lindy, que tengas
buenas vacaciones allí en España. Manda mis saludos a todos por allí,
especialmente a Spencer y Audra. Saca una foto si puedes con ellos. Que saques
muchas fotos para mostrar me a mi después! Voy a estar en casa muy pronto!
But Cutler, it sounds
like you had a great time there on your river trip! thats good! I´m happy for
you. But don´t think that just because you have had more practice at
wakeboarding and at swimming that you are ever going to beat me and be better
than me because you´re not! haha jk. I´m guessing that you are going tobe able
to whomp on me=)
Mom, I liked your
joke. I was reading your email and you were like.. well nobody is going to be
there from the family to pick you up but we will find someone and you can just
stay at the house for a few days... haha you really got me! I thought it was
hilarious when i read the PS! haha it was a good joke.
It sounds like
Spencer had a great time there in the MTC, he is there such a short time its
kind of crazy. But I´m glad you got a lot out of it! I hope you get to see
President Eyring there too, he is tied to be my favorite of all the general
authorities. And That is way cool that Elder Corbridge spoke there. He was the
area president here in the mission when I first got here and he did some
conferences with us and I got to meet him. He gives GREAT talks. One of the
best talks I have ever heard was given by him, its called ¨The 4th Missionary¨
and it talks about how to be the best missionary that you can be- I would highly
recommend it.
So this week was a
pretty good week. It was a bit slower than I thought it was going to be but this
week is going to pick up a bit and the next week is going to be even crazier.
Here is what happened last week,
So Monday was ok, it
was strange because it was pday and it starts at 3 and ends at 10 at night (that
is one cool perk=) But we had to wait until the changes ended before we could
really do anything and it was one of the most boring P-days that I have had
because we just stayed here in the office.
Tuesday we had to
wake up early (at 6. We normally wake up at 7:30) and we went to look for the
new missionaries at the airport and then at the MTC. It is really strange
because all the new missionaries are super young! But we got here, ate some food
and waited for President Essig to interview every one of them and then the
trainers came and we had a meeting where the nuevos met their trainers. I LOVE
those meetings. You can always feel the spirit so strongly in those meetings and
its fun to see all the missionaries meet their new companions. It was also
really funny to see all the new missionaries because they were so confused and
SO lost in everything that they did! haha.
But that night I went
with the Secretary in a truck to take some missionaries to their home with all
their luggage and they lived in the CAMPO! But anyway, long story short we
headed out at like 830 at night and we got really lost in the middle of nowhere
and we ended up getting back to santiago at like 1230 in the morning! haha we
didn´t get to bed until like 1 haha. But it was a funny experience.
Wednesday we did some
stuff here in the office and then we actually were able to get out and trabajar
in the sector! It was great, that is what I miss most. There isn´t too much time
to get out and work and teach and I really miss that.
Thursday and Friday
were really strange days. Thursday we didn´t go out and work because it was El
Dia de los Jovenes Combatientes which is basically a day where all the jovenes
go crazy and they go out and vandalize and destroy the city. its pretty stupid.
But for safty we had to stay in so that was strange. And then Saturday and
Sunday we were able to get out and work which was great- we taught a few lessons
which was good. It seems to be a great sector, i¨m excited.
But this week will be
quite a bit more office time, we have to prepare for the Zone conferences that
are coming up and later this week we have a couple of meetings with the new
missionaries that just got here so we are going to be pretty busy.
But thats life. Oh
yeah, and today my international driverslicense got here so I am now able to
drive here! CRAZY! I never thought that I was going to be driving on my mission,
just by foot. But now we are going to go buy food for the week =) I am kind of
scared to drive here in Santiago because they are all really crazy drivers! But
its all part of the experience.
Anyway, I love you
all, thanks for everything and have a great week! Conference is going to be this
Saturday and Sunday! I am so excited! It should be great.
love,
Elder Holland
